As early as the Middle Ages, Pommard established itself as the finest of the Beaune region’s wines. Ideally situated, halfway up a hillside at an altitude of 290 metres, this climat overlooks the famous Premier Cru vineyards of “Charmots” and “Pézerolles”. It was the first vineyard acquired in Pommard by Denis and Bernadette Carré in the early 1980s. Named after the walnut trees that once grew here, this climat has that vines draw their strength from a deep red, clay-limestone soil that is particularly rich in iron oxide. The highly refined nose releases notes of candied red and black fruits. On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich, and velvety. A deep, powerful, and elegant Pommard that brilliantly expresses the unique character of Les Noizons. Already highly appealing, this wine will reach its full potential after five to 15 years in the cellar.
