This plot, planted in 1930, is the oldest on the estate. It is located at the bottom of the hillside in the village of Meursault, in the lieu-dit of Sous la Velle, meaning “beneath the village”.
These old Chardonnay vines are almost 100-years-old and are planted on clay with a very well-draining subsoil of fine gravel. With low yields, millerandage, and small bunches, this Meursault has real structure, and remarkable finesse and richness.
It offers the perfect balance of intensity, fatiness and roundness, making it very characteristic of the appellation.
