The name “Tuvilains” dates back to the Middle Ages and describes a place where countryfolk work hard on the land. The Pinot Noir grape thrives on this premier cru plot of brown limestone and alluvia at the bottom of the slope alongside the celebrated climat of Clos des Avaux. It produces a wine that is all about elegance, a wine rich and sophisticated with floral aromas and wonderful length on the tongue. Its beautiful silky tannins and lovely minerality offer great ageing potential. It is a balanced, elegant, and concentrated premier cru that can be kept for a few years in the cellar.
