The climat of Les Vireux is ideally located on the top of the hillside on the edge of the village of Meursault. It adjoins the Meursault Les Vireuils appellation. The name of Les Vireux comes from an old French word meaning plots of land that follow the curve of the hillside.
These old Chardonnay vines are planted on the edge of the forest on shallow, limestone soil with red-brown iron oxides, and they make the most of a cool climate on stony soil to produce an ideally balanced white Burgundy wine.
This wine offers seductive freshness, remarkable tension, vivacity, elegance, and aromas of white blossom from a very young age. You can also leave it in the cellar for a few years, after which it might just surprise you.
