This magnificent plot of Saint-Romain, enclosed by a wall and limestone rocks more than two meters high, is very symbolic for the estate because it was the first vineyard acquired by Denis and Bernadette Carré in 1976. The name “Jarron” refers to a very stony land where only bushy plants grow. The plot covers around half a hectare and sits 310 meters above sea level. It faces southwest, and the soil is composed of fine red sandy earth over limestone scree. This terroir, planted with Pinot Noir vines more than 70-years-old, produces a full-bodied and fruity red wine with good structure that is very fragrant in the mouth. This is an indulgent wine best opened after between three and eight years in the cellar.
